Anonymous Donor Gives Gold Coins to Salvation Army in Pompano Beach, Again

An anonymous donor has once again made Christmas bright in Pompano Beach by giving gold coins to the Salvation Army.

The "Coin Crusader" dropped two rare gold coins into the Red Kettle at the Walmart in Pompano Beach over the weekend, officials with the organization said.

The 1947 gold coins were wrapped in a $1 bill. The Salvation Army received five of the coins last year and three the year before.

"This mystery donor has certainly lifted our holiday spirits once again. These unique gifts help us highlight the incredible support needed for the programs that take place during the holidays and all year-round,” Major Keath Biggers, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Broward County, said in a statement.
