Another 2 Zika Cases Confirmed in Miami-Dade

Two more Zika cases have been confirmed in Miami-Dade bringing the total in the county to 19, health officials said Tuesday.

The total cases confirmed in Florida are up to 44. All of the Florida cases are travel-associated and there have been no locally-acquired cases of Zika in the state.

Of the travel-related cases only five are still exhibiting symptoms, officials said. Symptoms associated with the Zika virus last between seven to ten days, according to the CDC.

Of the Florida cases four of them are pregnant women. The Florida Department of Health recommends that women who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant postpone travel to Zika-affected areas.
