Archbishop Curley/Notre Dame High School to Close, Merge With Monsignor Pace Next Year

Two of the oldest Catholic high schools in Miami-Dade County will soon be joining forces.

In a press release issued Monday by the Archdiocese of Miami, Archbishop Curley/Notre Dame High School will merge with Monsignor Edward Pace High School starting with the 2017-18 school year.

“It is important to provide the students and families a timeline to ensure a smooth transition from being two separate schools, Archbishop Curly/Notre Dame and Monsignor Pace, to becoming one school community,” said Dr. Kim Pryzbylski, Superintendent of Catholic Schools.

Archbishop Curley/Notre Dame will close their doors as a result of the move, with students being admitted to Monsignor Pace. The school founded as two separate institutions in 1953 before merging in 1981 on their current site off NE 2nd Avenue and 50th Street.

Pace was founded in 1961 on its current location in Miami Gardens, adjacent to St. Thomas University.
