An armed robbery suspect is in custody after a brief police chase on I-95 ended in Fort Lauderdale Monday morning, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

An armed robbery suspect is in custody after a brief police chase on I-95 ended in Fort Lauderdale Monday morning, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The chase began after authorities received a 911 call shortly before 8 a.m. of an armed robbery at the La Quinta Inn at 100 Southwest 12th Avenue in Deerfield Beach, the BSO said.

The suspect ended up traveling south on I-95, where a police pursuit ensued.

It ended as the suspect exited westbound on Sunrise Boulevard and was taken into custody without injuries, the BSO said.

The suspect hasn't been identified and no other information was immediately known.
