A two-car crash in Hialeah left at least nine people injured early Sunday morning.

The cars collided at East 8th Avenue and Okeechobee Road, officials said.

"They were struck broadside it looks like and the vehicle rolled over. We're unsure, but apparently from what they're telling us, none of them were wearing seatbelts," said District Chief Stephen Leroux.

Five rescue crews were on scene treating the inuries. Three victims were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center and the rest were taken to area hospitals where they are recovering.

Fire officials said several of those involved in the crash were possibly visiting from out of town.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
