Authorities in the Florida Keys continue to ask for the public’s help in identifying a man found dead off Ballast Key earlier this week.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the man had been in the water for a short time and does not match the description of any missing persons. He has a large tribal-type tattoo on his upper left arm, a detail detectives are hoping will lead to his identity.

The unidentified man is described as white and between the ages of 20 and 30. He is about 6-feet tall with a slim build and has brown, sun-bleached hair.

Detective Manny Cuervo said the man was discovered by a boater Monday about 100 yards offshore . An autopsy revealed no obvious signs of foul play, according to Cuervo. The unidentified man had no clothing and no identification on him.

Anyone who has any information leading to the man’s identify should contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 305-289-2351.
