Authorities Warn Joggers To Be Aware Of Man Who Attacked Two Women

Detectives say the man in a just-released sketch attacked two women in Tamarac.

Joggers need to beware of a man preying on them in Broward County.

Detectives say the man in a just-released sketch attacked two women in Tamarac.

First, one woman was approached as she was jogging on Avon Lane near McNabb Road last Monday. The man showed her a gun and spoke to her in Spanish while trying to drag her into the bushes. The same thing happened to another woman Wednesday. In both cases, the two fought off the man - one biting his hand; the other, hitting him in the face.

"I went to the park this morning and jogged which I love doing. I didn't hear anything about that," said Tina Henry, a woman who was walking in the area. "So now I just have to keep my eyes open and look over my shoulder."

A few weeks ago, NBC 6 aired a sketch from another case involving a man preying on women. That one is from Pembroke Pines near Brian Piccolo Park. It's where 24-year-old Christina Gomez was tackled by a man while she was jogging.

"As soon as I realized, I freaked out," Gomez said. "All I could think of was getting off the ground, but he was kinda straddling me, holding me down, covering my mouth."

It is unknown if the two men in the sketches are the same, but there are some similarities.
