Sheriffs deputies in Broward County fanned out across the county Thursday looking for people with outstanding arrest warrants. They ended up finding 19.
"Our priority is to always keep our neighborhoods safe and to put those who break the law behind bars,” Sheriff Scott Israel said. “Operations like this one help us achieve that goal.”
Deputies cracked down on wanted criminals during the one-day warrant sweep across various cities.
The operation started before dawn. deputies, working in teams of three, focused on the southern part of the county, from County Line Road up to Broward Boulevard.
The offenders had an array of charges including meth and cocaine possession, DUI, robbery, burglary, grand theft and battery.
