BSO Releases Sketch of Suspect Wanted in Chain Snatching

The Broward Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a suspect who they say ripped a chain off a woman's neck in Tamarac.

The violent theft happened back on Sept. 4, as the woman was sitting in a car outside Milano's Restaurant at 8767 Northwest 57th Street, BSO officials said Friday.

The woman was waiting for a friend who was picking up a pizza when the suspect approached the car and said "excuse me," and the woman rolled down her window. The suspect grabbed the gold necklace from around her neck and fled the scene on foot.

Officials described the suspect as a man in his 30s, about 5-foot-9 with a skinny build who had short black hair and a black beard. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
