Never mind till death do us part; one Miami man couldn't even make it through an accident without serious injury: South Dixie Highway was briefly closed Saturday night when the boyfriend of a woman hit by a car fled the scene.
Earlier in the evening, the couple had fought at T.G.I. Fridays, prompting someone at the restaurant to call police.
After officers left, the couple continued to argue as they walked down the 1300 block of South Dixie Highway.
The woman fell into the street, where she was struck by a passing motorist. According to a statement from the driver who hit her, she was not pushed, but tripped.
Nevertheless, her boyfriend ran away, prompting the Coral Gables Police Department to briefly shut down the highway while searching for him -- surely, if nothing else, to suggest he buy flowers in lieu of hightailing it away from an injured lady love.
The woman was taken to hospital, but was not seriously hurt.
