A watermain break on Biscayne Boulevard has closed several roads on this busy Friday.

Thousands of galloons of water spewed from the ruptured pipe that was struck by the back hoe of a construction crew earlier in the afternoon between Northeast 38th and 33rd Streets.

"It couldn't have happened at a worse time for the evening traffic trying to get home, the day before Halloween," Miami Police Chief John Timoney told WSVN7.

So unless you want to jet ski past some uniformed cops on your way home, take a detour and avoid the area all together. It's unclear when lanes will open back up to traffic so broom sticks might also be a viable new alternative mode of transportation.
