Black Friday Shoppers on the Hunt for Bargains

The holiday season is officially underway, as stores and shopping malls are swamped with customers searching for those Black Friday bargains.

Sawgrass Mills opened its doors at 6 p.m. Thursday and it will remain open until 9 p.m. Friday.

"I come the day before because Friday is the day everyone comes," said Samuel Stuart, a Black Friday shopper. "It's so full I decided to come today, get the better deals and the better clothes before it's all sold out."

Shoppers of all ages flocked to the mall, including those who know the mall well, to those who were visiting the mall and experiencing the deals for the first time.

"I have never seen a sale like this. In Australia, you have sales but this is the mother of all sales," said John Alvear, a tourist visiting from Australia.

The doors opened at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will remain open for 27 straight hours, closing at 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Extra security can also be seen at the mall to help control the number of people and the vehicles in mall parking lots. Police officials want to remind you to pay attention to your surroundings and keep your valuables safe.
