A boater needed a helping hand after his sailboat was pushed under the West Venetian Bridge by a strong current Wednesday, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said.
When a fireboat crew arrived, they found the boater holding on to the mast of the vessel as he tried to prevent it from becoming damaged.
The fireboat crew helped bring the man to safety and the mast was released to free the boat from the bridge.
