What to Know

  • Police say their early investigations appear to show that the valet stands were left unsecured and unattended in each incident.

Officials in one South Florida city are warning drivers about the dangers that could come with leaving your car with the valet – after several vehicles were stolen from a stand this past month.

NBC affiliate WPTV-TV said a total of three vehicles – including a BMW 330i and a Cadillac Escalade – were stolen since June 1st from stands at two areas in the city of Boca Raton, including two being stolen from the valet for Ruth’s Chris Steak House located inside Mizner Park.

Police say their early investigations appear to show that the valet stands were left unsecured and unattended in each incident.

Eagle Parking, which operates the stand outside of the Ruth’s Chris, told the station they are taking “extreme measures” with team members to prevent the incidents from happening again.

Boca Raton Police say that all three cars were found and that a teenage girl was arrested in one of the cases, but they are still looking for other suspects who may be involved.
