Police have identified the body of a man found this weekend in a Lauderdale-By-The-Sea hotel as that of a local firefighter.

Broward Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed Sunday that the body of 39-year-old Christopher Randazzo, who was a member of the Coral Springs Fire Department, was found at the Southern Seas on the Ocean Hotel on El Mar Drive.

Deputies did not release details about Randazzo’s cause of death.

According to police, officers received an unknown medical call at 6 a.m. Saturday and found the body of Randazzo at the hotel.

Homicide and crime scene detectives were on the case, but so far no details have been released as the investigation continues.
