Workers pull an SUV from a lake in Deerfield Beach after it plunged into the water following a crash on I-95. Authorities say three people were killed and a fourth critically injured.

Theodore and her nephew and passenger Guivens Daverman, 16, both from Pompano Beach, died at the hospital.

Her adopted sister, passenger Sandalie Jean-Baptiste, 20, remains on life support, officials said Thursday.

Daverman's father, Cakmand Daverman, and relative Jo Joseph sobbed over their losses Thursday.

“I lost him. I lost him," Daverman said.

His son's mother told him that he was dead.

"Oh my gosh, you have no idea how I feel to hear these words from my baby’s mother’s mouth," Daverman said.

There were no other injuries. The two other cars involved, a Nissan Altima and a Hyundai Sonata, had minor damage.

Authorities said the SUV landed about 50 feet from shore in 15-20 feet of water. Jachles said workers kept looking but were unable to locate the teen until early Thursday.

"There's nothing they could've done differently," Jachles said.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
