The body of a South Florida solider killed during a suicide bombing in Syria last month will return home Monday as his family and friends prepare to say goodbye.
NBC affiliate WPTV reports the body of 37-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan Farmer will arrive at Palm Beach International Airport before it is taken to a Jupiter funeral home.
Services will be held February 18th at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens before he is laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery next month.

“I often think he died for his country, but he lived for his family and friends,” said his father Duncan. “He was gone a lot, obviously he was deployed, so when he came home he put all his time into his children and wife.”
At least 16 people in total were killed in the January 16th explosion, which came just one month after President Trump announced U.S. forces would begin to be pulled out of the country and that ISIS had been defeated.

The terror group claimed responsibility for the attack but has not produced evidence to support that claim, according to NBC News.
The attack was the deadliest since U.S. forces entered the country in 2015.
