Bomb Squad Gives All-Clear at Limbaugh's House

The package actually contained a plaque

A bomb squad was called to Rush Limbaugh's house in Palm Beach Thursday, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

Around 4:30 p.m., a package was delivered to Limbaugh's North Ocean Boulevard home by the post office. It was deemed suspicious by security staff for the iconic conservative talk show host because they weren't expecting it, Fred Hess, Palm Beach Police spokesman, told NBC 6.

Limbaugh was home at the time, and the staff X-rayed the package and found wires in it. That's when they called police who then called in the Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad.

Meanwhile, authorities called the sender, who was located in a suburb of Pittsburgh, and he apologized. He said he was sending Limbaugh a "business opportunity," Hess said.

Inside the package was an electronic plaque of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination, Hess said.

"It was determined to be absolutely harmless," Hess said.
