Boy, 15, Fired Gunshots in Air After Girlfriend Had Altercation on School Bus: Miami-Dade Police

A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Wednesday after he fired gunshots in the air after his girlfriend got off her private school bus following an altercation on it, Miami-Dade Police said.

No one was injured in the incident at Southwest 241st Street and 109th Avenue in southwest Miami-Dade, police spokesman Det. Roy Rutland said.

He said a female student from MacArthur South High School was riding in the school bus when an altercation with other students resulted in her contacting her boyfriend on her cell phone. He met the bus at her drop-off point, and after his girlfriend got off the bus and the vehicle took off, he ran towards the bus and fired the shots, Rutland said.

Police were questioning the boyfriend and he was expected to be arrested, and the girlfriend was also being questioned and might also be arrested, Rutland added.
