Brawl at Oakland Park Walgreens Caught on Camera

Surveillance cameras caught the confrontation between a Walgreens loss prevention employee and a man reportedly stealing merchandise.

It happened around 5 p.m. on Sept. 14 at 601 East Commercial Boulevard in Oakland Park.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives now need help identifying the subject who is wanted for robbery and battery.

During the incident, deputies said the loss prevention employee stood at the exit of the Walgreens to stop the man from leaving the store after seeing him pocket six packs of Oral B toothbrush heads.

As the suspect approached the exit, he unzipped his vest. The employee told him to return the items and he could leave, but instead the two began to tussle, with the fight spilling outside the store.

BSO said the suspect punched the loss prevention employee in the head and after another brief struggle, he fled on foot.

The suspect, described as a black male with a beard and shaved head, weighs approximately 200 pounds and is about 5'5" tall. He was seen wearing black pants, a black T-shirt and a camouflage vest.
