Broward Detectives Looking for Gold Chain Robbers

Detectives are looking for two young men who stole a gold chain from an elderly man.

Louie Kattou, 77, was in the parking lot of the Broward Meat and Fish Market in North Lauderdale on May 12 around 3:30 p.m. when he was pushed into some bushes by the two men, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. The men grabbed an 18-inch gold chain with a black onyx crab charm from his neck and ran off, deputies said.

Security cameras caught the men on video as they ran away. Detectives said they jumped into an older model maroon, four-door Ford 500 that was driven by a woman.

Officials said they also believe the men were involved in a similar robbery at the same place on April 19.

Anyone with information is urged to call BSO Detective Cody Gill at 954-321-4275 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
