Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of Broward Health President and CEO Dr. Nabil El Sanadi.
El Sanadi was found dead in a building on the 5100 block of North Ocean Boulevard in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Detectives said foul play is not suspected.
According to BSO, American Medical Response responded to a 911 call about a person who fell in the restroom in the lobby of a building. First responders arrived to find El Sanadi suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are deeply saddened by this devastating loss and our prayers go out to his family at this time." said David DiPietro, Chairman of the Broward Health Board of Commissioners.
El Sanadi was also the medical director in BSO’s Department of Fire Rescue.
The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
