Broward Man Sentenced For Chihuahua Sexual Assault

Bautista was sentenced to one year and one day.

The man was sentenced on Friday to one year and one day behind bars for sexually assaulting a Chihuahua.

Tomas Bautista, 40, plead no contest to penetrating his roommate's Chihuahua mix with his finger when he came home drunk in February, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

The dog's owner, Casey Velasquez, said he heard the tiny dog yelp and ran outside to see what was going on, authorities said.

When he looked in the backyard, he saw Mimi tucking her tail and running back inside. He also saw Bautista passed out with his pants down, Vasquez told authorites.

Vasquez called authorites and took Mimi to an animal hospital after the incident, according to Broward Sheriff's Office.

Bautista admitted to investigators that he had penetrated the dog with his finger. He was arrested and charged with causing cruel pain and suffering on an animal, authorities said.

He will get credit for time served and will be released from custody in less than two months.
