Broward Man Wanted on Child Pornography Charges Found Watching Kids at Splash Park: BSO

Authorities say he had photos of girls between the ages of three and six in bathing suits at the splash pad on his phone

A Broward man who was wanted on child pornography charges was found watching children playing at a splash pad in Pompano Beach, authorities said.

Patrick Brogie, 55, was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges after he was found at the splash pad at Atlantic Boulevard and A1A, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Brogie remained behind bars on $100,000 bond Thursday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.

The investigation into Brogie began in late March after authorities said they received information that he had child pornography on his cell phone. Witnesses said he was often in the area near the splash pad but he wasn't found until April 20, officials said.

When detectives found Brogie, his phone revealed that he often searched for key terms seeking images and videos involving minors, authorities said. He also had photos of girls between the ages of three and six in bathing suits at the splash pad on his phone, authorities said.

After obtaining a warrant for his arrest, detectives found him at the splash pad on Wednesday, watching the children, officials said.

Officials said Brogie also has an active warrant from Germany for a 2008 case of sexual abuse of a child.

Detectives are worried Brogie may have had inappropriate contact with local children and are asking anyone with information on him to call 954-888-5264.
