Broward Sheriff's Office to Get Funding For Overtime Pay After Airport Shooting

The Broward Sheriff's Office is getting some help for overtime costs that stacked up while helping others in particular during the mass shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

BSO pays overtime hours at an average rate of just over $52 an hour for more than 3,400 hours -- totaling $262,000 for the agency.

Many officers, deputies, FBI agents, firefighters and paramedics responded to the January 6th incident as part of their regular workday. There were also overtime hours for the investigation itself as well as providing assistance to the victims and maintaining security at the crime scene.
