Broward Woman Accused of Kidnapping Young Daughter in 2014 Arrested in North Florida: FBI

A Broward woman wanted for kidnapping her daughter more than a year ago was arrested in North Florida Monday morning after her case was featured on a television program over the weekend, FBI officials said.

Megan Elizabeth Everett, 23, was taken into custody without incident in Palatka by FBI special agents and Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies, officials said.

Everett was being held in Putnam County and will be extradited to Broward. Her daughter Lilly was in protective custody.

Everett was wanted for kidnapping the 2-year-old Lilly in May 2014 out of Sunrise. Her case was featured on CNN's "The Hunt with John Walsh" over the weekend and a tip from the public led investigators to her location, officials said.

Lilly's father, Robert Baumann, said he and Everett constantly argued because Everett refused to vaccinate Lilly. Robert also shared other concerns with a judge including a picture of Lilly appearing to be surrounded by boxes of ammunition.

Everett has shared custody with Baumann.
