Police say they have made an arrest after a woman was hospitalized Monday night when a truck driver struck her and then took off in Brownsville.

Shaun Renee Floson,, 53, who lives in the area, was crossing the street when she was hit by a red, late 90s-model Toyota Tundra. She was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

Early Tuesday morning, police arrested the alleged driver of the truck - identified as 72-year-old Leon Morton - and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury.

Morton was being held on $7,500 bond, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
