A pair of bumbling burglars who spent 15 minutes trying to steal an air conditioning unit from a Tamarac business were behind bars Monday, authorities said.
Matthew Anzaldi, 22, and David Baker, 45, are facing grand theft charges in the Sept. 25 burglary at Benzer Pharmacy, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
Both men were being held on $1,000 bond, jail records showed. It was unknown if they've hired attorneys.
Last week, the BSO released surveillance video of the pair stealing the air conditioning unit. After it aired on TV, the BSO received phone calls identifying the suspects, officials said.
Officials said the men sold the $3,000 air conditioner to a scrap metal yard for $100 and used the money for food and drugs. One of the men told deputies both men are addicted to Flakka.
