Burglar Broke Into Auto Parts Store Twice: Miami Police

Suspect made smashing entrance twice, but forgot to cover face: Police

Miami Police are looking for a crook who broke into the same auto parts store twice in a matter of days.

The first break-in happened on March 5 at the Advance Auto Parts store at 3145 Northwest 7th Street when the suspect smashed through the front glass door.

But police said the bungling burglar made a crucial mistake.

"He tries to cover his face partially but somehow forgets, focuses what he's there for, and we could see his full image," Miami Police spokesman Det. William Moreno said.

Surveillance footage from the store showed the suspect walk to a cash register. Finding it empty, he grabbed a box of merchandise and left through the smashed front door.

Two days later, the same suspect struck again, this time kicking in the glass on the other front door, police said. Footage showed him rummage around, grab some goods before crawling out the shattered door.

The suspect is described as a white male, 19-35 years old, who was wearing black pants and a black shirt with white lettering.

"We're hoping that one of the viewers will recognize him and call us and let us know who he is," Moreno said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
