Burglar Smashed Though Doors at Davie Sprint Store, Dream Wireless in Weston: Police

Authorities are looking for a burglar who used a piece of asphalt and a rock to smash his way into two cell phone shops in Broward.

Both burglaries happened back on Oct. 1 at the Sprint store at 2631 S. University Drive in Davie and at the Dream Wireless at 284 Indian Trace in Weston and were caught on surveillance cameras, Davie Police and Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

In Davie, the suspect used the asphalt to smash the glass out of the front door. Police said all of the expensive phones were locked in a safe but the thief was still able to steal some wireless speaker systems.

In Weston, the suspect threw a rock through the door then pulled several displays off the wall while trying to disconnect phones from security cables, officials said.

He smashed several store displays and was able to flee with about $4,000 worth of electronics.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
