Burglars, Vandals Hit Cars in Hollywood and Miami

Police are looking into a possible connection between two recent crime sprees.

Police in Hollywood and Miami are investigating a recent string car burglaries and vandalizations.

David Cohen is one of the latest victims in an overnight spree that targeted high-end cars parked on the street outside the Quantam Towers near Biscayne Boulevard. Several cars, including Cohen's BMW, were broken into within a three block radius.

"I'm not happy at all...I don't even know what to say," Cohen said as he discovered a passenger seat covered in glass from the window thieves broke to steal his sunglasses.

The latest burglaries came a week after a group of thieves broke into more than 50 cars at a Hollywood condo parking garage. Surveillance video released by Hollywood police shows one suspect dive in head first to search for items in the car wile the rest of his body hangs out the window. Just four days before that, 46 cars were vandalized in Little Havana.

Police are looking into a connection between the two incidents.

"It looks like it could be the same individuals," Miami Police Department Public Information Officer Freddie Cruz said. "The same MO. They're going in looking through windows, breaking some of the vehicle windows, they are left unlocked."

It's unclear whether the latest car break-ins are connected to those in Little Havana and Hollywood.
