Cab Driver Robbed at Gunpoint in Miami-Dade

Police are searching for a man with a distinct tattoo who robbed a cab driver at gunpoint in Miami in an incident caught on camera.

The robbery happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 11 when the driver, 58-year-old Guerdy Rosalva, dropped off a passenger in the area of Northwest 140th Terrace and Northwest 12th Avenue, Miami-Dade Police said Monday.

Once Rosalva arrived, he was approached by the armed suspect who demanded cash.

“Don’t move. Don’t move. I am going to get everything,” the thief said.

The suspect stole the cash and fled the scene. Surveillance video in the cab captured the robbery, but didn’t present a clear picture of the robber. But, police said the gun-wielding thief did have some identifying features.

According to police, the suspect's right hand has a tattoo of the word "DADE," and his left hand possibly says "COUNTY."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
