Car Fire Causes Evacuation of Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel

A car fire inside of a parking garage caused the evacuation of a Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel early Friday morning.

Crews responded to the Conrad Hotel off 551 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard shortly before 7:30 a.m., where all guests and staff were forced to exit while fire rescue members searched the area.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials tweeted a short time later that the fire was caused by a car fire on the sixth floor of the parking garage, where it was confined to and eventually put it out.

No injuries were reported.
