Body Inside Missing Woman's Car Found in Water in Ft. Lauderdale: Police

A body was inside the car of a missing Fort Lauderdale woman that was found in the water at Cooley's Landing Marina in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

The car belonging to Lisa "Noodles" Hayden-Gordon's, a blue 2003 Hyundai Elantra, was found just after noon on Friday.

A private boating company assisting in the search discovered the car.

The car was found in the area of 450 Southwest 7th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, less than a mile from where she was last seen.

Police confirmed a body was inside the car but the medical examiner will have to identify the remains.

"We are confirming that there is a body in the vehicle, but at this time we are not confirming who that person is," Fort Lauderdale Police Det. Tracy Figone said.

Hayden-Gordon, 52, was last seen on January 24 in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Family members say she suffers from bipolar disorder.

Police, along with family and friends, have canvassed the downtown area searching for Hayden-Gordon with no luck. Her family has also set up a website to help find her.

"We've covered all Wilton Manors and this was the last stop here. This was about the last place for us to look," said Allison McManus, with Guardians for the Missing. "I'm just glad, and it sounds terrible, that it was only a month, because I deal with families that go years and years and years without knowing anything. So at least we found her as soon as we did."
