The South Florida retailer will close its doors after it liquidates its merchandise

South Florida retailer Carl’s Furniture has announced that it will be closing its doors.

Three locations including Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach will offer liquidation sales. Beginning March 13, a private sale will be available for previous customers. A public sale will begin March 27.

Carl’s said in a news release that employees were notified last week of the store closings.

The stores will close once all merchandise is liquidated.

Carl's Furniture filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011 and was forced to close some of its locations.
