A 52-year-old central Florida man is accused of abusing a disabled woman and teenager.
Winter Haven police say the woman notified them earlier this week that Phillip Dale Simons repeatedly battered her with a stick he called the "stupid stick." She says he threatened bodily harm if she went to police.
Police say that on May 16 Simmons put the barrel of a gun in the victim's mouth and threatened to "kill" in front of minor victim and a severely disabled teenager who also lives in the house.
Police were waiting when Simmons returned to the home Tuesday. He tried to elude them but was arrested.
He faces multiple charges. He is scheduled for a first appearance Thursday afternoon. It's not known whether he has an attorney.
