Charges Pending in Jacksonville Crash With School Bus, Tractor Trailer

Two died in the crash, authorities said.

Authorities say charges are pending after a crash involving a school bus and a tractor-trailer killed two Jacksonville women.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck crashed into an SUV that was waiting behind another car as the school bus ahead of them dropped off students Friday afternoon.

The Florida Times-Union reports that FHP has identified the victims as the SUV's driver, Carla Blissitt, and her passenger, Naomi James. Blissitt died at the scene and James was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The semi overturned, striking the other car. Both drivers suffered minor injuries.

According to FHP, there were 13 children on the bus at the time of the crash. Four children were taken to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The FHP's investigation continues.
