Checkpoint at Miami International Airport Evacuated

The J-central checkpoint in the South Terminal at Miami International Airport was evacuated Friday evening after a suspicious package was seen at a TSA checkpoint.

Miami-Dade Police’s bomb squad removed the package from the scene around 8 p.m. and the concourse was then re-opened..

Miami International Airport said no flights were affected by the checkpoint evacuation. Passengers were diverted to other checkpoints to get to their flights.
