Helping make conditions ripe for funnel clouds was an east coast sea breeze that pushed slowly inland, with a few showers, said weather service meteorologist Kim Brabander.

β€œThe sea breeze is moving slowly, and the low-level winds are extremely light,” Brabander said.

A funnel cloud also was seen by NBC 6's helicopter about 3:40 p.m. Friday near the Dolphin Mall. That funnel cloud also dissipated without touching down.
