A construction worker was arrested Friday night after stabbing another construction worker in the face at Sugarloaf Lodge in the Keys.
Fidel Alberto Santay Tizol, 29, was charged with aggravated battery after lunging at his coworker Efrian Castillo, 37, and stabbing him in the face with a small knife, according to a report from Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the scene on Sugarloaf Key around 11 p.m. Friday. Castillo, the victim, told police he and Santay Tizol has been drinking together after a long day of work when they began to argue.
Castillo stated that Santay Tizol consequently lunged at him and cut his face directly below his right eye.
Santay Tizol stated he had been drinking, but denied stabbing anyone.
Castillo was taken to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island, and Santay Tizol was taken to jail, according to the report.
