Miami-Dade Police have arrested one of their own on molestation charges for allegedly fondling two teenaged girls during a traffic stop in West Kendall.
24-year-old Juan Carlos Rodriguez was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation Thursday night.
The arrest report states that Rodriguez, a four-year veteran, pulled over a car in which the two girls were passengers about 10:30 p.m. on January 11, near the interesection of Southwest 88th Street and 157th Avenue.
He then fondled the girls behind a CVS pharmacy.
Sexual battery detectives, according to the police report, believe Rodriguez has "assaulted a number of other young women in a similar manner."
"His 'searches' of these young women were not done in accord with police protocol, and served no legitimate police purposes," it reads.
Rodriguez appeared in bond court Friday, and has been relieved of duty without pay.
