Two individuals were arrested Friday in connection to a body found in a Davie canal, police said.

Corey David Weintraub, 19, and Andarly Desir, 19, were arrested  for the murder of a Tampa man, police said Saturday.

The body of 76-year-old William Norman was found floating in a canal along SW 14th Street and SW 121st Street Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said the incident was being investigated as a homicide after the mans' body was found with a plastic bag wrapped around his head secured with tape, police said.

Capt. Dale Engle said the body looked like it had been there for awhile.

The investigation remains ongoing.
