Two more cats were found dead this morning in the Lauderhill area, close to where two cats were found mutilated earlier this week, according to police sources.

Police are investigating whether the latest deaths are the work of the South Florida Cat Butcher or Butchers, who have been terrorizing the area since early May on a cat-killing spree that has claimed nearly 30 feline lives.

Cops won't know what caused the death of the two cats, found blocks apart, until an official necropsy is performed.

Neighbors reported hearing loud barking dogs in the area where the cats were found last night, and police aren't ruling out that the cats may have been mauled to death by the dogs.

Over two dozen cats have been mutilated and killed across two Miami-Dade neighborhoods in the last month. In most cases, the cats have been dismembered, gutted or cut open and left on their owners' lawns.

Two cats were found earlier this week in Lauderhill, with speculation that there may be a copy-cat cat killer striking in Broward.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $7,500 reward for any info leading to an arrest and a seperate non-profit group has offered an additional $5,000 reward. Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers can be reached at 305-471-TIPS.
