Miami-Dade Police and SWAT officials were at the scene of a barricaded subject on Sunset and 109th Avenue Friday.
Police said they received a call about a domestic dispute at 10955 SW 69 Terrace shortly before 6 p.m.
Fire officials were first to respond and said a man, identified as 36-year-old Carlos Guerrero, had been involved in a physical altercation with his brother outside his home.
The brother was treated for minor injuries but when police arrived, Guerrero took off running, officials said.
Police tried to gain entry to his home but were not allowed in for hours.
The situation displaced dozens of residents who were not able to access their homes. Others were evacuated for safety reasons, police said.
When police were able to enter the home, Guerrero was no longer inside. Authorities said he will be charged with a misdemeanor and are looking to speak to him.
