Cops Seek Teen Salon Robbery Suspect

Police say 15-year-old was one of two behind North Miami armed robbery

Police have identified one of the two suspects wanted in the brazen robbery of a North Miami nail salon last week that ended with an employee getting shot.

Daiquan Howard, 15, pulled off the armed robbery at Nails 4 U at 15520 Biscayne Blvd. Thursday night with another accomplice, according to North Miami Police.

"Detectives are currently seeking information on his whereabouts and Howard should be considered armed and dangerous," a police release, issued Monday, read.

Police say Howard and another man stormed the salon around 7 p.m., as it was crowded with nearly three dozen customers and employees. Witnesses said they burst in, yelled "hands up" and forced everyone to get on the floor. A surveillance video from inside the salon captured both men entering with guns drawn.

Police said Howard is the suspect in the black shirt in the video.

"Two young black males entered this business, this 'Nails 4 U', armed with guns. They then proceeded to rob all the customers, any employees and possibly even the owners of all their possessions, handbags, cash, anything they could get," said Neal Cuevas, with the North Miami Police. "They then fled the store, they were followed by two employees and at the back of the store, one of them was shot in the chest."

The employee was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was in stable condition as of Friday.

Anyone with information on Howard's whereabouts is asked to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
