Coral Gables Flasher Arrested: Police

A man accused of exposing himself to a sunbather in Coral Gables has been arrested, police said Tuesday.

Antonio Damian Rodriguez, 40, faces charges of burglary of an occupied conveyance and lewd and lascivious indecent exposure, police said.

Rodriguez, from Hialeah, was booked into the Miami-Dade Jail late Monday and was being held on $8,500 bond Tuesday, records showed. It was unknown if he has an attorney.

Police handed out flyers Monday and said they were able to track down Rodriguez with the public's help.

The incident happened the morning of Oct. 3 at a home in the 200 block of Mendoza Avenue when Rodriguez walked to the rear of the home where he found a woman sunbathing, police said.

The victim told police she was lying face-down on a beach chair when she felt someone standing over her, an arrest affidavit said.

She looked up and saw Rodriguez standing over her with his penis exposed and he was masturbating, the report said.

The victim ran away into her apartment and Rodriguez fled the scene on foot.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured clear images of Rodriguez as he entered and left the property, police said. Police said finding the man turned out to be easier than they thought.

"This individual was wearing a ankle bracelet from Broward County," said Officer Kelly Denham. "We were able to home in on his current address. Our detectives went up late in the evening and arrested the individual without incident."

Detectives are investigating to see if they can link Rodriguez to other crimes committed in Coral Gables including a June 2, 2014 sexual assault.
