No Bond Issued For Suspect in Deadly Miami Gardens Shooting of Couple

The man police say opened fire on a couple inside their car this weekend in Miami Gardens will stay in jail until his trial.

A judge ordered 24-year-old Jorge Guerra held with no bond and have no contact with the surviving victim in the shooting. Prosecutors say Guerra shot Michael Lopez and Doris Gutierrez early Saturday morning in the 1900 block of Northwest 39th court .

Lopez died next to his car, while Gutierrez was airlifted to Aventura Hospital.

"He was laying in the street just dead,” said witness Helena Robinson. “I couldn't sleep after that I was devastated. I came back out at about maybe 5:30 AM and he was still out there on the ground."

Friends and family members created a memorial with flowers and candles where Lopez lost his life. According to the arrest report, Guerra was Gutierrez's ex-boyfriend. They had recently broken up and Gutierrez began dating Lopez.

Robinson  said their was a dispute between Gutierrez and her ex-boyfriend.

"They argued; he got back in the car and got the gun; got out the car and shot; then left his car there and proceeded to walk down the street."
