Crime Scene Photos Released in Missing Miramar Mother Case

Brother says evidence released Wednesday shows Vilet Torrez killed by husband Cid

A mountain of evidence has been released in the high-profile case of missing Miramar mother Vilet Torrez.

Cid Torrez is accused of murdering his estranged wife, and prosecutors continue to build their case against their suspect, who has pleaded not guilty.

On Wednesday, prosecutors released hundreds of pictures of the crime scene, Vilet Torrez's Miramar townhouse. Pictures of everything from the inside of the house to the family’s vehicles were released. Some of the photos included dark spots inside Cid Torrez’s Jaguar.

“It speaks volumes, it's putting the pieces together and I think it paints a very clear and complete picture," said Vilet's brother, Javier Blanco.

Blanco is convinced Cid Torrez murdered Vilet and did something with Her body.

Some of the more notable items found inside Cid Torrez’s car were rubber gloves, rolls of tape, a Bible and a heartfelt note from Cid to his son.

Cid Torrez’s lawyer, Richard Della Fera, said Wednesday evening that he is not impressed with the evidence, and continues to maintain his client’s innocence.

Blanco, who is an attorney, says he is very encouraged by the prosecutors’ work so far.

"I feel very confident about everything that's going on, I think everyone is doing their job and the process is continuing," he said. "I think the pieces are falling exactly where we thought they were gonna fall."

Vilet Torrez vanished nearly a year ago, in March 2012, and her body was never found. Cid Torrez was arrested in November and charged with first-degree murder in her death, and remains behind bars without bond.

The couple's three children are now living with Vilet Torrez's mother.

Blanco said the family and children talk about her all the time.

“We just want to talk to them and not let them forget her, and help them remember her the way she was, to us, to them, to everybody,” he said.
