A cruise ship passenger was taken to a Miami hospital after suffering a head injury while on-board a Royal Caribbean ship late Wednesday.

The person was injured around 11:30 p.m. on the Majesty of the Seas in waters not far from Miami.

Video showed cruise ship passengers clapping as the rescue unfolded.

The passenger was safely taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted to the emergency room, Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Robert Hevia said.

It's still unclear how the passenger was hurt. The ship continued on to the Bahamas as scheduled.
