Cuban Man Wanted in Gas Pump Skimming Scheme May Be in Miami: FBI

Osvaldo Bello Villanueva, believed to be 43, was indicted earlier this year

A Cuban man wanted by the FBI for allegedly operating a gas pump skimming scheme in Northern Virginia may have fled to Miami, authorities said.

Osvaldo Bello Villanueva, believed to be 43, was indicted earlier this year on charges including conspiracy to commit access device fraud, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft, FBI officials said.

Officials say between March and September of 2017, Villanueva ran a scheme in which Bluetooth-enabled skimming devices were installed on the internal components of multiple fuel pumps to collect payment card information from thousands of victims.

Villanueva, who is originally from Cuba, may have fled to Miami or Denver, officials said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI.
